細長い敷地に建つ5階建てのシンプルな建物です。構造を組み込んだ5枚の間仕切り壁によって中を仕切っています。間仕切り壁の開口部はさまざまな大きさがあり、どれひとつとして同じ物がありません。大きすぎる開口部をもつ間仕切り壁は、間仕切り壁というよりは梁と柱のようにも見えます。間仕切り壁なのか、梁＋柱なのかは、人によって捉え方が違うでしょう。そうした曖昧な感じの間仕切り壁とすることで、人によって部屋の使い方や数がちがってくるような、新しい、自由度をもつ家をつくりだそうとしました。

It is a simple five-story building built on a long and narrow site. The inside is divided by 5 partition walls with built-in structure. The openings in the partition walls vary in size, and none of them are the same. A partition wall with an opening that is too large looks more like a beam and column than a partition wall. It depends on the person whether it is a partition wall or a beam + column. By making such a vague partition wall, I tried to create a new house with a degree of freedom in which the use and number of rooms are different depending on the person.
